Russian mills specify surface density in grams per square meter and the weave type (calico, percale, satin) rather than thread count. As a rough guide, hotel-grade percale runs around 110-125 g/m2. Ask for both the g/m2 figure and a fabric swatch; together they tell you more than a thread-count number alone.
