Expedition bunker silos are designed for shipping grain into a car or railway wagon. Bunker-silos for organic and bulk food products are made of high quality galvanised steel and are not subject to corrosion. This type of silo is widely used in storage facilities where there is a need to minimise grain loading time.
The silo is mounted on a sturdy support structure, which is made in such a way as to provide the transport with the most convenient access. The bottom cone is fitted with a gate valve for ease of operation.
An inspection hatch is located on the roof of the silo to allow access and maintenance. The silo is also equipped with a ladder and inspection platforms.
The silo cylinder consists of galvanised corrugated profile metal panels, which are assembled with HILTI anchor bolts. On the cylinder are mounted ladders for maintenance and sensors for upper limit level and grain sampling devices. The equipment also includes road and railway transport unloading units, ventilation system and temperature control system inside the hopper.
Installation of sectional elements is carried out by bolted joints with the use of sealing rubber inserts. The tightness of the joints is ensured by a waterproof mastic composite. This method of assembly guarantees the preservation of the corrosion-resistant coating and reduces the cost of installation work.
