•What is the maximum load per shelf?
LDSP shelves 16/18 mm support 15–25 kg per linear meter on cam-lock fixings. Solid pine/oak shelves on metal brackets — 40–60 kg. Industrial metal racks (Larvij, Practic) — 80–200 kg per level. Warehouse mezzanines are engineered for 250–500 kg/m² point load.
•How are shelves mounted to drywall and concrete walls?
Suppliers ship anchors compatible with both: nylon plugs + 6×60 mm screws for concrete/brick, and metal toggle bolts (butterfly anchors) for drywall up to 12.5 mm. For loads above 20 kg on drywall, mounting must hit a stud or use Molly bolts.
•Are floating (invisible-bracket) shelves available?
Yes — popular variants use hidden steel rods (10–14 mm diameter) embedded in the wall and into pre-drilled holes in the shelf. Load capacity 15–25 kg per shelf at 200–300 mm depth. Common materials: oak, ash, pine, MDF-veneered.
•What is a 'mezzanine' (antresol) and where is it used?
An antresol is an upper storage compartment installed above a doorway, hallway, or wardrobe — typical depth 400–600 mm, height 400–700 mm. Standard in Russian apartments (Khrushchovka/Brezhnevka layouts) for seasonal storage. Exported widely for compact-living markets.
