Preprocessor is an embedded component, connected in series in the path connecting personal computer with specialised software data processor, with current and voltage sensors with digital output of IEC 61850-9-2 format. The main function of the Preprocessor is to receive and pre-process digital communication streams from measurement sensors and then provide the results of this processing to applications running on a personal computer platform.
The device is designed in PXIe card format for 3U chassis. It can simultaneously process up to 12 digital streams with a sampling rate of 12800 values or 3 streams with a sampling rate of 100,000 values per second.
