FM system consists of two main components: a transmitter and a receiver. The audio signal enters the microphone of the transmitter, which is located at the speaker, and is then transmitted via radio waves to the listener's FM receiver connected to a hearing aid or sound processor.

If necessary, the FM system can be additionally equipped with an induction loop, behind-the-ear inductor or headphones (headphones). In this case, the signal from the transmitter is transmitted to the hearing aid or sound processor through them.
