Food waste is loaded from the galley area into the "IPS" shredding feeding stations. The stations crush the food waste into smaller particles.
A small amount of water is added to the food waste to clean the intake hopper and create a liquid mass (slurry). When the pneumatic valve is opened, the food waste is transported by vacuum through the pipeline to the collection tank.
