The on-board device is designed to measure current navigation parameters, determine on their basis the coordinates of the consumer in the coordinate system PZ-90.11 and link the current time of the device to the national coordinated time scale UTC(SU) to ensure monitoring tasks for the purpose of collecting payment in compensation for damage caused to public roads of federal significance by vehicles with a permitted maximum mass exceeding 12 tonnes.
The CU generates information about the current coordinates, time and direction vector of the vehicle by receiving and processing GLONASS/GPS GNSS signals.
The CU periodically transmits the accumulated information to the subsystem of data reception and processing using GSM standard networks. Within the framework of the programme of import substitution of electronic component base, the communication module PN6280 produced by JSC NIIMA "PROGRESS" is used in the product.
