MPTG-2 is a modular machine with an enlarged crew part (18500 mm), on the rear console there is a crane-manipulator with a load moment of 28.8 tonnes.
The motocarriage is designed for:
Loading, unloading and carriage of goods on its own platform;
Carriage of cargoes on trailed platforms;
Transportation of long cargoes, including rails 25 m long on own and trailed platforms;
Transportation of working crews to the place of work;
Shunting operations on station tracks;
Welding works in field conditions;
Clearing of tracks from snow;
Supply of electric power 380/220V, 50 Hz to consumers;
Compressed air supply for consumers (8 atm.);
Mounting of a drilling carriage for drilling works is possible;
Use as a head machine within the complex for current track maintenance;
Maximum trailed load of 300 tonnes at a speed not exceeding 60 km/h;
Maximum trailed load on a slope of 10% - 80t at a speed not exceeding 60 km/h.
