hydrometeorological surveys;
hydrological research;
environmental research;
research in the interests of national defence;
guiding caravans of ships in ice in case of receiving a distress signal from the latter.
The icebreaker is capable of carrying out research work when travelling in a field of solid ice.
It is envisaged to transport Arctic expeditions, landing and evacuation of people from the ice, unloading and lifting from the ice equipment, equipment and supplies of expeditions.
