Diameter (thickness) measurement is carried out along the length of the perpendicular between two parallel straight lines touching the side surface of the log from opposite sides. Depending on the model, diameter measurement can take place in one plane (AXEL-1D) or in two planes (AXEL-2D).
Log length measurement is based on the shortest distance between the ends. The volume of the logs is determined by summing the volumes of truncated cones according to GOST 32594-2013.
